Lost and Found
project

The aim of this project is to identify and help adults and children who always wanted to be artists, but for some reason have dropped out of the system and have been unable to realise their dreams. This might be because of anxiety, depression, physical health issues, mental and physical disabilities, bullying, homelessness. domestic violence, lack of money, imposter syndrome or just that fact that life has got in the way. For lots of these people the fact that they can’t or don’t do art anymore is reinforcing their feelings of depression and sense of isolation. Our project will use all of the resources at our disposal to help these people rediscover their lost passion for making art.

What we hope to achieve.
1 We hope to reduce the number of adults and children living with mental health issues by giving art back to the people who need it most. We’ll reduce the stigma around mental health by showing that mental health issues aren’t a barrier to producing interesting and challenging contemporary art.
2 We’ll be offering community based support in our studio (or by remote video link) to our artists and helping them deescalate their feelings of depression and isolation.
3 By re-engaging our artists with something they care passionately about we’ll be giving them back a sense of purpose and helping them develop their skills.
4 Last and not least, we’re sure we’ll be seeing some fantastic art.
